Character Info

◎ Character's Name: Hiro Kageyama
◎ Character's Canon: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker
◎ Character's Age: 18
◎ Canon Point: Post Human Administrator Ending (Trianglum Arc)
◎ Background/History: Taste the raiiiiinbow!
◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? No and yes. Hacking ain't his forte and he's confirmed to have high spiritual awareness due to seeing the Nicaea website and death videos.

(Note: Even though I will be playing him from game canon, there will be some aspects from the anime that will be added due to lack of information from the original game.)

◎ Personality: Prior to the start of the story, Hiro was a rather quiet, reserved and inexpressive child. His parents had given him a lack of attention beyond asking him to get good grades. With that, he ended up becoming an independent child who was emotionally neglected. And because of the fact that he studied a lot and was a rather smart student with strange habits, this also resulted in him being bullied a lot by other students. So Hiro's habit was hiding everything through a very stoic mask where no one knew what he was thinking. He was a quiet, yet apathetic kid. He had no one to connect with or anyone who understood him - Therefore, he was a lonely child. One could say that he was an empty person who was very listless and didn't have much meaning or self-worth in his life. And it wasn't until Daichi had protected him from his bullies was when he learned what friendship truly was. That's when he discovered the meaning and purpose of human relationships. Once he gained his first friend ever, he became more cheerful and outgoing. At first, he only expressed his true feelings around Daichi. But eventually, those feelings had spread out to more people as he gradually started to make more friends. One could say that he was making up for lost time after closing himself off for so long. While he still remanded distant from his parents, he made up for it through making friends with Daichi and becoming more sociable. Which leads us to how our protagonist is whenever the game begins. First appearances show that he's a cheerful and laid back person. Having no particular goal in the future beyond being in the springtime of his youth and living freely, Hiro gives off the vibe that he's a silly and irresponsible teenager who just wants to have fun, throw verbal jabs at his best friend and dork around. However, there's still some melancholy and apathy to found if you look beyond his cheerfulness where he does think and worry about the possibilities of the future and what it brings. Little did he know was how much his life changed whenever the earthquake hit Tokyo and the demons attacked after that.

From the beginning, we see that Hiro is usually able to keep a calm head in most dangerous situations. One example would be whenever Io and Daichi freak out over the fact that they're encountering demons for the first time. He's the first one who declares that they should fight them to survive instead of running away. That's not that he can't get scared, but whenever he does get surprised or startled, Hiro is usually quick to regain his composure and makes a rough analysis on the situation to make fast decisions. Which shows in battle as he tries his best to come up with quick strategies to defeat his enemies or plow through with raw determination when nothing else works. As the game continues on, we starts to see new sides of his personality that develop as he meets more people. Now while he seems to be serious at first glance and will be when the situation calls for it, he's actually capable of being quite mischievous and happens to joke around a lot. He has a love for puns, jokes and other gag related things. Usually, he's the one being a troublemaker with his gags and making people become the straightman to his antics. Sometimes, he'll say bold and eccentric things with a completely straight face or remark on something entirely irrelevant to the situation at hand. From other people's perspectives, it might be difficult to tell if he's joking around or being completely serious. For example, one of the choices was him to cheerfully go "Raiiiiinbow!" whenever the group is about to travel across the Rainbow Bridge. Or he'll comment on how cute a girl looks even though she's being brainwashed by demons. While people focus on one thing, Hiro's mind can travel to other places quickly which is why the team can need him to get serious and focus sometimes. And this also shows while he can approach things to a certain degree of seriousness, he knows how to lighten a situation with his offbeat silliness. But Hiro's sense of humor can also be lean more on the sarcastic, mean and even malicious side. Thanks to the chaotic events of the game, Hiro ends up revealing a certain level of black comedy that you wouldn't expect from him. For example, whenever Daichi was mourning over the possible death of his parents, you can choose to have him say "Well, someone's finally lost it." with a straight face and Daichi will simply laugh it off and find relief that he has a friend like Hiro. This could be implied that since Hiro and Daichi are so close, they have a bizarre friendship where they can insult each other without getting angry. Usually, we see Hiro being a wiseass and throwing mean and curt comments at Daichi's expense. But it doesn't mean that he genuinely hates the guy. It's just a bizarre way to express how he likes someone depending on who they are. This could be the standard for anyone who gets to know Hiro well enough. He's not below teasing people to get funny reactions or hitting sensitive spots (at humans or demons) to raise the annoyance levels. At his worst, he can be a huge pest or a cheeky jerk depending on who he's with or the situation. While he can be a bit mean to people sometimes, he'll usually be the first to jump to their aid whenever something bad is going down. One of his shining (or strangest) features is his sense of humor. Since no matter how many tense or horrific situations he experiences, Hiro still manages to keep his strong sense of humor, liveliness and optimism. Many characters in the game come to appreciate his way of lightening up the mood. While he does play up the joker face a lot, it's also a way to help him cope with the pressure of everything else going on. Sometimes, he tends to play down traumatic events around him as weird or funny to detach himself from everything going on. But it's important to note that he doesn't do it to be cruel. He actually holds a lot of feelings behind everything happening. People are dying around them, demons and star aliens are attacking, the existence of the world is literally disappearing and everyone's traumatized and getting stressed out. Hiro himself is especially feeling shell shocked and hollow from all of these events. So it's no wonder that he has to put on the "class clown" act to protect himself and outright defy the harsh and unkind reality that being exposed to him - At his own expense or the expense of others. As long as no one is seriously getting hurt, then practical jokes are fine in his book. Not all of his mischievousness is forced as he's still a normal immature teenager who wants to have fun and be free. Impressions make it seem like Hiro treats everything with nonchalance like a big game, but he really knows the level of seriousness going on around him. That defense mechanism of his makes coping with traumatic situations easier, but even his cheerful mask can slip and crumble.

Now one of the biggest keys of his character is that Hiro has a very strong determination to survive when push comes to shove. It's simpleminded bravery at his best and pure insanity at his worst. But he doesn't want to lose to fate, despair or anything thrown at him. Hence why he's usually able to recover quickly whenever he goes through a painful ordeal and return even stronger than before. Basically, he's not very good at giving up when you tell him to. He's a firm believer in facing problems with a powerful resolve to get through anything. Even in tense situations, Hiro has shown himself to be rather gutsy and aggressive with going after something and getting what he wants. After getting caught up in the subway crash, he was bordering on the boundaries of life and death. And once he was given the chance to lie down and die or keep on trucking, he decided to keep move forward and not let things end that quickly. Even though he seems to be horribly accepting of situations involving the demons and Septentriones on the outside, he's still an ordinary person who is wrapped up in some extraordinary problems. It’s not completely out there for him to get scared or worried for other people or what's going on around him. And another key to his personality is that he carries strong leadership skills. Through his charisma alone, he can become a powerful force who can assure a faction's victory by assistance and even convince enemy teams to join him for challenging fate. He's surprisingly competent at giving orders, recruiting people for his own causes and he generally has the final say on what everyone will do. His silly antics do tend to make people forget that he's the leader figure, though. But he can easily shift over to second-in-command if there's another person with higher authority in charge or if he feels that they deserve the spotlight for a moment. Most of the time, Hiro will be the one shooting off minor ideas on what they should do next or become the Voice of Reason in the group whenever everyone is freaking out or arguing. He'll tell others to calm down and get themselves together. And considering he usually feels that he needs to play the role of a 'leader' to get everyone in action, he'll usually be one who's super gun-ho about a certain mission that they're going to do. Taking out a group of rioters? Can do. Fight an army of demons? Let's do this shit. Battle a bunch of alien invaders until humanity is the last ones standing? Get ready to rumble. He's the type of person who will competitively accept any (reasonable or fun) challenge thrown his way and work hard to exceed the conditions met. It's for these reasons why everyone ends up relying on him when the situation is darkest. That's why the Anguished One refers to Hiro as "The Shining One" (which he takes honor and pride in). He has a sharp intuition that leads him to adapts quickly in battle and his survival skills are top notch (with even mastering the Demon Summoning Programming rather fast). In his own way, he inspires trust and respect within others and makes things a little better for everyone. Despite his aloof and strange impressions, he keeps a rather friendly and accepting demeanor towards others. He's even willing to extend his kindness towards his enemies as long as he thinks that they're within the realm of reason... And bonus points if they're cool and interesting in his eyes. For example, Ronaldo and Hiro end up being on good terms with one another despite the conflicting ideals that they have and considering they nearly fought to the death when they first met. Then with angry and abrasive people like Keita and Yamato, Hiro reveals more of a cynical streak as he's still able to make decent conversation with them with his fair share of verbal jabbing in the mix. And then, you've got tsundere or straitlaced people like Airi and Makoto... Who he just flat out enjoys teasing and flirting at to get some funny reactions. Despite the fact that the world is literally falling apart around them, Hiro still takes his own time to empathize and understand others in various ways. It's been stated that his presence alone ends up bringing out people's inner strengths and change them for the better. He's actually much more insightful and down-to-earth than he lets on... Which usually shows when he's giving people encouragement or advice once it's appropriate to do so. A lot of people claim that Hiro happens to be a good listener once you get past his bouts of silly immaturity and bizarreness. In a way, it makes him look like a confidant or an adviser.

Now while people might tend to put Hiro high on a pedestal, he's far from being perfect. Everyone's got their weaknesses and our bunnyhood is no different from the rest. While he usually does carry himself through being cool, cheerful and confident... The confidence of his can jump to him making some reckless choices for better or worst. Sometimes, his confidence is rather inspiring to others and other times, it might come off as him being arrogant or simply him being egotistical. Not to say that he can’t tone it down or be unable to share the spotlight, but after fighting powerful demons, alien gods and even existence itself... One can’t help and brag a bit about accomplishments. But naturally, he’ll always give credit to the friends that helped him along the way as he values them above anything else. He may not be overly modest at times, but Hiro will give proper credit where credit is due as he feels it's better to let others share your glory instead of keeping it all to yourself. Then deep down, there's plenty of conflict and insecurities going on in his head about his personal choices, his leadership skills and the horrors going on around him. While he can put on a put on a brave face and act cool in front of others, he’s still a regular boy who can get shaken up about terrible things. The main source is due to his little hero complex that he has about the fact that he's been given great power and the fact his decisions can influence the people around him because he has power. This reflects in the game as it's Hiro's choices that carry the most weight to where the story moves or who survives to see another day. So that's why he won't hesitate to help people to survive because he has the ability to do so and he doesn't want to feel the regret over not doing anything. And he won't forgive people who abuse power out of malicious or selfish reasons. Despite the fact that he's fully aware that he has limitations, he still strives to surpass them and be heroic towards others in some way, shape or form. Even if he becomes scared and even if he doesn't know what will happen in the future - Hiro wants to be a 'hero' (zing) and believes others can do the same. That's why while everyone else is horribly traumatized by everything around them, he prefers to suppress it and channels into helping people and digging for information on how to solve things. Hence why he's quick to get back on his feet and doesn't let his traumas and horrors rule over him for a good long time. It’s been stated by numerous characters that he has nerves of steel and crazy amounts of resolve to break through dangerous situations. This is because Hiro tends to believe that when someone needs him as a pillar of support, he needs to stay strong for their sake. If he ends up losing face, then they'll end up losing their morale as well. If he breaks down, then everything will fall apart as well. Which leads to an interesting contradiction where Hiro is generally friendly, upfront and won't hesitate to listen to other people's worries and support them through their troubles - But he doesn’t always let others know about his personal hang-ups to make sure that they stay happy. So with that, he tends to keep others at shoulder's length about those unless he truly knows them well enough to confide his own share of dark secrets and confessions. Not for a lack of trying as he does enjoy connecting with others, but Hiro fears of failing people's expectations of him (and the ones set for himself) and having people believing that he's weak and unreliable. So he always pushes himself to be upbeat, heroic and positive and tries to solve his own personal problems on the inside. While he's naturally a hard worker at heart, he also can seek recognition for his actions. So when other people are proud of him, he feels proud of his actions too. So in plenty of ways, he tries his best to not fade into the background and works hard to have others acknowledge him. Rejection isn't something he takes very well from people he feels close with, so it's something that he tries to avoid unless he knows that it's possible to fix everything in the aftermath. And another flaw about him is the fact that he doesn't always think about the smaller details and focuses more on the big picture. However, he is capable of listening for other people's own opinions before forming an opinion of his own. This can also be seen as a flaw to show that Hiro sometimes lacks vision and leaves other people to come up with the big ideas and decides to adopt those ideas into his goals. But that's not to say that he can't come up with big ideas by himself (as he's the one who proposes to Alcor to overthrow Polaris and become the new Administrator for Kingmaker route) since he can be pretty perspective and clever at times. But there are moments where he might need to step back and let others do some thinking on the grand scheme of things before he revises his own ideas and starts making some decisions. Then he can be clear if someone else's plans properly align with his own or if he needs to go against them entirely. In the end, Hiro decides to follow his own feelings on what he believes is 'right' regardless if others agree or disagree with his opinion. And thanks to that, he becomes less restrained doing what he feels is right to him than before. Which shows whenever he casts away all of his doubts and hesitations by joining Daichi's group to fight Yamato and Ronaldo's factions in deciding how the world's ideals should be shaped in the Septentrion arc. This comes with the double-edged sword with people not able to follow his moral compass sometimes and he comes off as an unpredictable and frustrating person.

Then on the subject of making choices, this extends to a fact that Hiro can let his impulsive thoughts and feelings cloud his proper judgments sometimes. Whenever he wants to have fun and amusement, he moves forward with full force and ends up discarding all consequences. Whenever he's angry, he'll put everything he has into defeating the enemy in a cold rage. Whenever he's frustrated with something or someone, his friendliness drops into something more bossy and snippy to get them to shut up and follow his lead which can be quite unsettling compared to how he usually is. While he's a gentle and kind person at heart, it doesn't mean that he's always nice. Hiro won't hesitate to use harsh words to get people to move or snap them out of a funk or even fight brutally if he needs to survive. If he has to drop the joker act and become the adviser of common sense within the group, then he will. This usually reflects when people are freaking out, acting irrationally or whenever he's just in a random mood to play the straightman to someone else's joke. And while he's usually social savvy and tries to read people, Hiro does have his occasional moments of revealing a sharp tongue in which he's surprisingly blunt or brutally honest in conversations. Basically, it means that his bluntness and honesty can reach the point of insensitivity. Especially whenever he's feeling pressured and stressed with everything going on... Most of the time, he's simply being matter-of-fact with his opinions or very straightforward with his questions as he doesn’t usually mean any harm. Then when his friends or strangers are in trouble, he won't hesitate to put himself through practically suicidal lengths to make sure that they're all safe and sound. This can easily veer off into reckless territories whenever he can run off on his own to take care of things so no one has to suffer in his place. Which once again goes back to his little hero complex where he believes that he has to shoulder harsh burdens so no one needs to do so. His selflessness truly shines through for the Human Administrator route of the Triangulum arc where he decides to become the sole guardian of humanity even if it means an eternity of loneliness on his end. Then earlier on the route, it’s revealed that he takes a fatal blow for Alcor by Canopus which literally causes him to fade from existence in the second world. Also he seems to be hasty with jumping to conclusions sometimes. For example, in a scene where Io is helping out a young boy, Hiro can misinterpret the whole thing as flirting and Io will get insulted. While he can be sharp and knowledgeable, there are moments where he can misread the atmosphere and completely miss the point. Some more of his darker sides can show that he can be forceful on making others decide on what they should do or he makes the call for them right on the spot regardless of their own opinions on the matter. He can also be surprisingly aggressive when it comes to taking personal action or calling the shots as a leader. Depending on the person, they could be crying their heart out and he'll tell them to suck it up and go to fight. And he can tend to put his own personal amusement over people's feelings sometimes which can make him seem like a huge asshole with his inappropriate moments of teasing. An example of this is in a scene with Makoto where he watches her getting chewed out by Yamato and he's given the choice to laugh at her. His flippant nature isn't always best suited for serious situations and it can really get on people's nerves along with his bluntness. This may be a fact that while Hiro may be able to show a lot of empathy towards others... It doesn't mean that he's always a kind person. While Hiro is a selfless person when it truly counts, he still carries a bizarre childish streak where he acts independently and follows the beat of his own drum. One of the biggest examples was when his father sends him a text of advice to choose his friends wisely. Instead of feeling grateful towards his father's advice, it angers him and he discards it by continuing to pursuing his friendship with Daichi. This means he can end up acting against authority sometimes or do weird things on his own whim and not care about other people's opinions. If it's not fun and interesting, then he'll twist things to become the way he wants. It's less of a development and more of a reveal through some conversations that he lives for his own desires and can be self-serving at times. He's naturally a teenager who just wants to have fun and live freely. This is neither a good nor bad thing, but simply a human thing about him. Hiro can tend to ride on his own sense of 'right' and 'wrong' which can open new possibilities at best and conflict with other people's ideals at the worst. Some can interpret him as a manipulative bastard who controls his 'pawns' and others can see him as an eccentric nice guy who just wants to do right. But there's no doubt that he's a mix of both sides by being goal-orientated and heartfelt in his actions. He's even not below eavesdropping on people to get information or keeping important info to himself and revealing his trump cards at the last minute. As long as he can get what he wants and achieve his personal goals along with everyone else’s, then Hiro believes it's perfectly fine to take some crazy risks and have some fun along the way. But in the process, he doesn’t always think about the long term consequences of his choices and how it can get him (or others) into trouble. Usually, it's the whole party itself who attempt to keep him grounded or warn him in certain situations.

And finally, Hiro is a strong believer in human potential and believes that friendship is one of the most important keys of this. Bonds and sticking together through hard times are an important theme of the game and Hiro's methods of befriending people, keeping everyone's together and helping them out is a sign of this. What truly gives him strength is the fact that he thinks about other people and how cooperation will improve the world as a whole and overcome the universe itself. Friendship and bonds are his greatest strength and his greatest weakness. With friends, he believes that he's confident enough to survive anything that comes his way. But without them, he'll lose the usual confidence that he has since loneliness is his greatest poison. It's due to the fact that he feels their lives are his responsibility and their fates lie in his own personal choices. If a comrade dies, then he'll put all of the blame on himself over the fact that he couldn't do anything to prevent it. He'd much rather go through a lot of suffering than watch his friends deal with it. Not to mention, he really enjoys getting to know people and lending them a shoulder through problems if they need it. But this also comes with the double-edged sword of Hiro can become a nosy people pleaser at times. The main issue with this is the fact that his kindness, curiosity or meddling can get himself wrapped up into some complicated things (like assisting Ronaldo’s grudge filled mission on taking down Yamato and JPs despite being allied with them for survival). Not to mention, there are moments where he can be flexible enough to overlook what's normally 'right' and 'wrong' and not judge someone in long term if it means getting along with others much easier. In other words, Hiro can come off as a pretty naive fellow or just a foolhardy peace loving fool. Even in the last day of the Septentrion arc, Hiro still forgives the friends that fought against him and even asks them to join his faction to fight Polaris despite the conflicting ideals that they have. But this is as long as the reasons are acceptable enough in his book or if the offenders have shown some honest and earnest regret to make up for their actions. Even he has his limits of patience as he won’t accept truly evil beings that have no remorse or empathy for lives. In other words, he's the kind of guy who can be your greatest enemy one day and your best friend on the next like nothing ever happened. However, it's not impossible for him to hold a few small grudges over something really petty and get you back tenfold for a laugh or two (i.e: He's nearly panted Daichi while he's carrying a box to get revenge over something that happened in middle school). While he's experienced a lot throughout the hellish worlds, he's gained a new sense of responsibility and has steadily evolved into his own kind of hero. Someone who's kind and gentle to his comrades, but also brave and vicious to those who cross him. And as the 'The Shining One', he represents hope in how humanity can find new possibilities, band together and defy destiny with their infinite potential. One way or another, he'll always end up exceeding a person's expectations. While he can be a very clownish, narcissistic and obnoxiously cheeky teenager... Underneath that is actually a sharp, charismatic and reliable survivor who inspires hope within others and fights tooth and nail to protecting whatever he can.

After the events of the Triangulum arc and becoming the Administrator, Hiro will still be himself as he's still very human at heart. Yet at the same time, he'll be a little more melancholic and cynical than before considering that he has to spend an eternity away from the world and his friends. The fact that the whole universe is messed up invokes Hiro's drive to become the Administrator to fix things personally. But this comes with the price of eternal solitude and never interacting with his friends or the world ever again. While those are big prices to pay, he doesn't want to see his friends experience any more sadness hence why he's driven himself to this point. But as usual, he'll try to mask those sad feelings through his usual cheerful and humorous demeanor to not make others worry about him. The fact that Hiro can interact with people again will bring him back to his usual self more sooner than later. And considering that he becomes God in this ending, he has to bare the responsibility of leading humanity onto a path where everyone will peacefully reach their full potential. After experiencing two worlds of cruel ordeals and learning about one world where he didn't exist, he wants to make sure that humanity is safe and secure. This also means that he'll have to make sure that the world is protected from any other supernatural threats like the other Administrators out there. While he's still adjusting to playing the role of an observer, it doesn't make him any less willing to jump into situations where he can help others and make a difference in the world. And while he's still a generally optimistic person, Hiro will need to learn not to turn a blind eye to the darker sides of humanity. Considering his role, it's something he can't avoid as he prefers to see the good in people and their potential to become better. But just like in the worlds that he's experienced, he has to take the bad from the good. He's happy to have a role where he's bigger than himself, yet very sadden that he won't live as a normal human again. But considering that this was the decision that he made, Hiro has decided to live with it. For him, living means making choices. And every choice has consequences involved or even means making new choices to continue forward. It's the freedom to choose that makes Hiro feel human and alive.

◎ Powers/Abilities:

Since Hiro is being taken from the Human Administrator Ending of the Triangulum arc, his abilities undergo some important changes. The biggest thing is that in Devil Survivor 2's universe, he becomes an Administrator which is basically a god who controls the fate of the world through the Akashic Records. But the difference between Hiro and the other Administrators is the fact that Hiro is a human who isn't bound by the regular laws of the Administration System. The other Administrators are too alien to understand humans and are only programmed to do their tasks such as destroy humanity considering they perceive humans are a threat. Hiro on the other hand still maintains his free will, conscience and human heart fit for ruling over humanity.

Despite the fact that his mind and heart stays human, this comes with the added bonus of having godlike powers to come as an Administrator. While the full extent of his powers are up for interpretation, we know that Hiro can create, erase and overwrite worlds to his design and liking through the Heavenly Throne, Akashic Record and Astrolabe. This also includes overwriting people's memories which as we see where he erases his existence from everyone's memories in the ending. This is also known as the Administrative Authority where Hiro's sheer willpower can influence or even change the world.

But since he's cut off from the Record, Astrolabe and the Heavenly Throne, his reality warping powers will be completely sealed and his Administrative Authority is nullified. But this doesn't make him any less weak as he has control over Canopus' four factors - Time, Heat, Gravity and Space through the Skill Crack on his cellphone. His control over factors will be also nerfed down as they mainly boost his strength and spells against powerful opponents. And despite the fact that he's an Administrator, he still carries morality like all Admins before him. So while defeating or outright killing him will be a task, it's not impossible. Also this comes with the packaged deal of having heightened senses above an average human and the ability to sense non-human beings like angels, demons or other supernatural creatures. Then he may have the potential to shapeshift into something more inhuman considering that his powers and himself has surpass humanity now. But considering that Hiro is still inexperienced as an Administrator and he wants to stay human enough, he won't necessary have a full grasp of his abilities. Hence why he can only scratch the surface on what he's really capable of.

He can also speak Spanish and French. It's implied that he's been learning those language before the events of the game.

◎ Weapons & Other Special Inventory:

- Cellphone (Demon Summoning App) - This allows him to summon demon henchmen. This basically means that instead of making a magical circle or using some ritual to summon a demon, the COMP can instantly summon demons to a person's side and pack them away as data after a contract is forged. Hiro can only summon two demons at a time to assist him in battle along with fusing other demons together on the side. This also comes with the fact that Hiro can use magic spells with the app's help. And whenever Hiro defeats an opponent (demon or human), he can copy a skill from them and use it for himself if needed. This is known as the "Skill Crack".

And also, the COMP can allow Hiro to see "Death Clips" of people that he's fated to be close with and are set to die in random videos from the Nicaea administrator. This can allow Hiro to defy fate and save someone who's doomed to die if he wants. The death clip function ends after Day 6 in the Septentrion arc, so this won't come up in-game.

The two demons that Hiro will bring with him are: Byakko and Aramisaki.

There's also his MP3 Player along with his charger to go with that.

There were plenty of bullet points in that powerpoint presentation that hit too close to home. Destruction. Death. Alien beings. Data. Fighting. Struggling. Surviving.

For a moment, Hiro had to break things down through his own logic. The heroes that he loved so much in his comic books wouldn't give up that easily. This would be the moment that they would get up, strike a pose and say a cool one liner before moving forward to strike down the enemy. But this wasn't a comic book, but real life. As much as he wished that things would be that simple, it really wasn't. Right now, that cold reality in front of him was the fact that his world was destroyed and all of his friends were ----. If he submitted to that despair, then it would be game over. The tears that were forming from the corner of his eyes were an indicator of this.

Like hell he was going to roll over and cry like that.

So that's why he had to continue to think. He couldn't stop thinking. Pushing his intellectual boundaries meant opening the doors to more possibilities. As long as he had the choices that felt 'right' in his heart, then surely a straight path would open. And right now, he knew that his choice was to keep making them and move forward even if his heart was hurting. Instead of mulling on the situation in his world, he could start learning what he could about this one. Getting more information before he settled himself in would be helpful...

Deep down in his heart, Hiro used to believed that he wasn't anything special- But he wanted to be. Alcor called him 'The Shining One' even if he didn't fully understand what that meant at first. His friends looked up to him as their leader. And he's managed to save a lot of people in such a short amount of time. He was a simple human who had taken on monstrous demons, terrifying aliens and even existence itself. But if he was truly the Administrator now, then why couldn't he prevent his world from being destroyed? The guilt on his shoulders were almost unbearable. But there had to be a way to fix this.... In any case, there wasn't any need to mull over what gave him meaning and what he could've done. Things were looking rough now, but he knew that there was still hope that everything would turn out okay.

No matter how slim, dim and faint that hope was. If that didn't exist, then he'd make it himself.

A smile returned to his face once new resolve started flowing through his veins. The boy slapped his cheeks together just to be sure that he was properly calm and composed. The tears that were about to fall from his eyes were wiped away with his sleeve. Then a little laugh escaped from his lips. It was almost like that moment of sadness never happened.

"--This isn't the first time I've been in a pinch. Gotta keep it together!"

His heart was half afraid about what was waiting for him next and half excited at what the future had in store. This wasn't a matter of wanting to run away from the facts or not... The cold truth was that he couldn't run away. He wouldn't run away. And why should he run? Those with friends, power and ambition were the ones who could change the world. That was one of the many lessons that he learned from the two worlds that he experienced in his young life. Sometimes, you had to fight for what you believed in even if you have to shed your own blood or shed the blood of others to make those dreams come true. That's how he could fight without any hesitation or guilt once he gained that resolve.

As long as he had the keys of 'power', 'friendship' and 'ambition', then he could change the world however he liked. If this world was boring, then he'd make things fun. If this world was sad, then he'd do whatever he could to make it happier. He wasn't sure what was going to happen in the future, but the details about what was going to happen wasn't important. The biggest thing that he did know? It was the fact that he was going to survive and make things right somehow. And for the first time in a while, he was truly all alone. While it was sad, he knew that this wouldn't last long. He could reach out and make some new connections easily. It was a while since he's made new friends and Hiro wanted to reach out and make as many as possible.

Enemies weren't out of the question either, but he'd prepare himself and deal with the bad things as they came. Gaining more precious friends along for the ride was the most important goal right now. As long as he had precious comrades that he could protect and return the favor for him... Then he truly felt that he could surpass all kinds of adversity.

"Alright. Let's survive."
